Assemblyman Benjie E. Wimberly is Speaker Pro Tempore representing District 35, which covers municipalities such as Paterson and Garfield. Prior to his election to the state legislature in 2012, Assemblyman Wimberly served on the Paterson City Council for two years. A strong advocate for community development and education programs, he also supported the Clean Renewable Energy Bill and upheld the Paris Climate Accord. Assemblyman Wimberly is currently the Chair of the Assembly Housing Committee and sits on the Assembly Budget Committee. He is also the Co-Chair of the Joint Committee of Economic Justice and Equal Employment, among others.
